Seal Rocks
Warialda offers pet friendly accommodation just 10 minutes from the idyllic seaside village of Seal Rocks. Surrounded by Myall Lakes National Park, Seal Rocks attracts visitors year round for its unspoilt surfing beaches, snorkelling, diving and fishing. The beaches are pristine with sparkling blue/green water and relatively uncrowded.
Beaches at Seal Rocks
Boat Beach is our favourite. Named simply, because it’s the beach where the fishermen boats are launched from. Its quite sheltered which means the waves are usually quite gentle and perfect for swimming with young kids. There are also rocks to explore. The vibrant sea life in the area make this beach a favourite for snorkelling.
Number One Beach is across the road from Reflections Holiday Park so we find its generally busier, yet just as beautiful as Boat Beach.
Other beaches close to Seal Rocks definitely worth exploring include Lighthouse Beach, Submarine Beach, Treachery Beach and Yagon Beach – all accessible through Myall Lakes National Park.

Sugarloaf Lighthouse
A trip to Seal Rocks isn’t complete without a visit to the Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse which can be reached by a 20-minute scenic walk (along a paved road) through Myall Lakes National Park. The historic lighthouse was built in 1874-1875 to warn ships away from the treacherous rock formation, Seal Rocks. It’s one of two lighthouse towers in Australia with an external lighthouse. At the front of the lighthouse is a grassy knoll picnic area, which in our opinion, has to be one of the best whale watching spots in Australia.
Shops & Eating
Despite being fairly isolated, Seal Rocks has a couple of options for coffee and food. Great coffee, baguettes, danishes and toasties are available at Single Fin Coffee on the hill between Number One Beach and Boat Beach. Next door, the Seal Rocks General Store & Post Office has pies and sausages rolls and other snack type refreshments.
